When the Storm Shook My House… I Remembered My Power.
Jewels Lamm | MAR 5
Last night the sky had something to say.
The kind of storm that makes you pause whatever you’re doing and just listen.
Thunder that rolls through the air like a drumline.
Lightning flashing across the sky as if the universe is turning the lights on and off.
At one point the thunder cracked so loudly that our house — a very solid house — actually shook.
And something unexpected happened.
A plaque that sits above my stove fell down.
It’s been sitting there for years. I see it almost every day,
but like most things in life, I stopped seeing it.
When I picked it up from the floor, I finally read it again.
“Live life passionately.
Laugh out loud.
Love unconditionally.”
And something inside of me stopped.
Because for a moment I had this flashback.
A flashback to the version of me who did not live like that.
There was a time when those words would have felt almost… ridiculous to me.
Live passionately?
I didn’t even feel like I was fully living.
Laugh out loud?
I was afraid to laugh too much, because I felt like the
next problem was already waiting around the corner.
Love unconditionally?
That phrase wasn’t even in my vocabulary.
Back then, the emotional frequencies I was living in were very different.
Disappointment.
Frustration.
Failure.
Suffering.
That quiet heaviness where you feel like life is happening to you, not through you.
I remember feeling like I was constantly bracing myself for the next thing to go wrong.
And at that time I didn’t realize something incredibly important:
I had the power of choice.
It was always there.
But I didn’t know how to use it consciously.
Transformation rarely happens all at once.
It begins the moment consciousness expands.
For me, that awakening started when I began reconnecting
with something deeper with love, with source, with the realization that life is not just physical…
it’s spiritual.
I began to understand something powerful.
You are not just experiencing life.
You are participating in its creation.
Through your choices.
Choice of what you think.
Choice of what you believe.
Choice of what emotions you practice.
Choice of what energy you lead your life from.
And slowly, through that awareness, I started exercising the most powerful gift given to us by the divine creator:
Free will.
Choice.
Not the kind of choice that changes your lunch order.
The kind of choice that changes the direction of your life.
Standing in my kitchen last night, holding that plaque,
I realized something that made me emotional.
Those words on that plaque…
“Live life passionately.
Laugh out loud.
Love unconditionally.”
Years ago those were not my reality.
They were my prayer.
And now?
They are simply my life.
Not because life suddenly became perfect.
But because I became conscious of the energy I choose to live from.
I choose love.
I choose to lead myself.
I choose to see possibilities instead of limitations.
I choose to trust the intelligence of life instead of fearing it.
And those choices, repeated over time, changed everything.
If you are reading this during a difficult season of your life,
I want you to hear something very clearly.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Feeling disconnected.
Feeling frustrated.
Feeling like life isn’t unfolding the way you hoped.
That is part of the human experience.
Every single one of us goes through seasons like that.
But there is another dimension available to you as well.
The spiritual side of your experience.
The side where you reconnect with who you truly are.
Where you remember that you are not just reacting
to life, you are creating with it.
When you reconnect with spirit, you become inspired.
When you reconnect with love, you begin to lead yourself differently.
When you reconnect with source, something shifts inside you.
And suddenly the same life begins to look very different.
That storm last night didn’t just shake the sky.
It shook a memory awake.
It reminded me how far I’ve come.
Who I used to be…
And who I chose to become.
And that’s the message I want to leave you with today.
The person you are today is not fixed.
Five years from now you can be living a completely different life.
Not because the universe randomly decided to bless you.
But because you decided to consciously exercise the divine power you were given.
The power of choice.
The power to think differently.
The power to feel differently.
The power to lead your life from love instead of fear.
And when you begin doing that consistently, something extraordinary happens.
Your reality begins to reorganize around the energy you embody.
If your life were written on a plaque above your kitchen today…
What would it say?
And more importantly…
What do you choose for it to say five years from now?
Because the storm reminded me of something very important.
The life you are praying for today…
Can also begin today with your one conscious choice at a time.
