IS A HAPPY LIFE AN ILLUSION?

My life reflections of 50 years - Part 1

My big 50th birthday is coming up!!!!

How did I want to celebrate it?

Hiking in Amalfi Coast, Italy!!!!

How am I going to celebrate it?

I am celebrating by learning life lessons in the way I never learned.

As I’ve been following my life path, it has led me to this point of my life:

ACCEPTANCE

Accepting what is vs fighting with what is

Accepting myself - perfectly imperfect

Byron Katie likes to say: “What is = Reality, Reality is God!”

PAUSE here for the moment and just reflect on the two statements above.

What is coming up for you?

Are you in a state of acceptance?

Or

Are you in a state of resistance?

It took me a lifetime to come to this point!!

Thanking all my coaches and life for inviting me to this world!

Most of my life I spent resisting reality/life especially when it showed up as “bad”.

I perceived that as something was wrong with me, my life, my family and “I was not lucky” or

“I was cursed”. This invisible “force” was “stealing” my right to a happy life.

And, when things were “wrong”, what did I do?

I had to FIX what was “wrong”!!!!!

I had to change it! I had to make it better somehow and….. do it quickly. God forbid I will be feeling unhappy for too long, right?

Since the beginning of time, we have been trying to change the world so that we can be happy!

Does it sound familiar?

Byron Katie likes to say: “You are the storyteller, the projector of all stories, and the world is the projected image of your thoughts.”

Acceptance does not mean complacency.

Acceptance means coming to my wholeness.

Taking aligned actions from the place of acceptance/wholeness allows me to move forward WITH life and not AGAINST life (fixing it as it is broken). It feels different when I take actions from the place of resistance and feel angry and when I take actions from the place of accepting and allowing to feel all the emotions.

Instead of asking myself: “Why is it always happening to me?” and taking the identity of a suffering victim who feels angry and mad, I am learning my new internal dialogue from the place of acceptance:

- How can I use this situation/person for my own growth and expansion?

- Why is what I am going through a good thing?

- From a higher perspective, what lessons might I be learning by going through this?

And, answering these questions does not disqualify my human experience of feeling all the feelings and creating life I want to experience. It is my new journey!

Happy Birthday To New Me!

If you are still reading this article, THANK YOU!

I can feel that you are ready to update your view of the world!

Pick up a pen and paper and reflect on the questions above.

I will be back with my reflections in my next article.

Feel like sharing your perspective?

I would love to know where you are on your journey.
