FEELING OVERWHELMED?

AND... REACHING FOR ANOTHER COOKIE?

As a Health & Mindset Coach, I am here to enlighten you that it is ok to reach for another cookie.

There is nothing wrong with you or your willpower!

Reaching for a cookie is just a symptom of the underlying pattern, in this case, feeling overwhelmed.

Please do not restrict yourself more than you already are especially if you are trying to eat "healthy".

Why? Because your state of mind is a part of your eating "healthy" experience.

Would you define your restrictive mindset as a sign of health?

What does feeling overwhelmed, restrictive mindset and cookies have in common?

Start noticing your patterns and report your observations to me.

You will be pleasantly surprised as you notice how feeling overwhelmed, restrictive mindset and cookies relate!

Congratulations!!!!!!! AWARENESS IS THE FIRST STEP TO CREATING A BREAKTHROUGH!

While you are committing to NOTICING as your potential homework, let me explain to you what I have been observing in mine and my clients' patterns.

First of all, let's reveal a pattern: if you are a busy body, feeling overwhelmed is your default pattern!

Is this happening to you?

- You resist (restrictive mindset) feeling overwhelmed like it is something "bad",

- You reach for a cookie as your default coping strategy (searching for the opposite - feeling of fun & calm), then

- You restrict even more (eating a cookie is adding more to your overwhelm).

Eventually, you get exhausted, which brings you to the complete opposite and THAT IS -

OVERINDULGING in more cookies as an outlet for feeling an opposite emotion to feeling overwhelmed.

After that experience, you get back to your "familiar" pattern of feeling overwhelmed but this time, you make a decision ...........

MAYBE

Well......... MAYBE YOU contact your Coach (me) to help you with not eating cookies because you blame the cookies - more you eat the cookies, more you are moving away from reaching your health goals and searching for another best diet or more will power!

The default feeling is the key word in that sentence. It feels familiar, "comfortable" and known for your brain.

What I have learned recently from taking many behavior changing courses is that our brain's job is to keep us safe therefore our brain does this job best by collecting more evidence to support our state of mind, which is, in this case, feeling overwhelmed. No wonder, you keep adding more to your "plate" of tasks, assignments and projects! Feeling familiar? Feeling "comfortable"?

What I am realizing now as I am still doing the "work" is that I was constantly operating in resistance of "feeling overwhelmed" convincing myself that it was a part of the deal. Resist, keep going, resist more, add more, resist more, keep going - can you relate to this loop? Resisting is a common response of the default pattern. However, when we resist, it amplifies because we spend a lot of energy resisting it. As you know, what you focus on, it amplifies.

I invite you to notice how many times you say to yourself or in the conversations: "I am feeling overwhelmed! I just have too much to do"!

I am talking about this pattern because these are the type of women I attract in my nutrition coaching. I hear: "I am feeling overwhelmed" all the time. Luckily, I can relate to this feeling. I know what you are thinking: "It is not the type of luck I would be proud of!"

Well, it is all about a prospective and this is where the transformation happens.

You might be thinking right now: "WHAT IS THE SECRET TO NOT FEELING OVERWHELMED EVER IN MY LIFE?"

Here, I said it! Resisting it is like swimming against the current!!!! It takes too much energy and most likely it has been keeping you in the familiar loop - feeling overwhelmed, reaching for a cookie, then feeling guilty, then overindulging, then feeling guilty more and starting fresh on Monday.
