Dial In Your Minimal Effective Dose for Fat Loss!
My partner Amanda and I started our 1x1 Macro coaching. What we see in our current clients is a typical case scenario of yo yo dieting and doing a lot of things but not seeing the desired results. In this post, I will share a couple of principles that we both rely on to help our clients move forward with confidence.
Principle#1 - Finding Their Minimal Effective Dose (MED)!
MED is a concept derived from the Pareto Principle (where 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts”? In other words, it is defined as “The smallest dose that will produce a desired outcome.”
Would you like to devote 20% of your current effort to get 80% of your desired results?
Principle#2 - Use Dialing In to Establish Your Minimal Effective Dose (MED)!
Can you imagine a dial in knob on a toaster? In order to get perfectly crisped bagel, you use a dial in knob that meets your expectations. If it goes too much towards the MAX position, it will burn. If it goes too much towards the MIN position, it is not crisp enough. Imagine you have a new toaster that takes a few trials to get your "perfect" MED that meets your expectations.

If you are like most of our clients, you might be embracing all the tools that you hear about:
- Eating less and less
- Exercising more and more
- More cardio, more HIIT, more Interval training
- Lacking adequate protein
- Moving less throughout the day because you feel exhausted
- Buying more and more supplements for weight loss
- Trying more and more diets that promise the results

Does this scenario remind you of a dial in knob on the toaster that was turned too much to the MAX position? No wonder, you just like your toast are burnt out! It did not meet your expectations of "crispiness"!
You simply did not CUSTOMIZE your tools to YOU - Your MED. That is where a PRINCIPLE#2 comes handy - dial in your plan that meets you where you are and gives you the most results for your efforts!
Do not blame yourself for doing too much! Most of the information on fat loss is geared towards short-term results without giving you a MAINTENANCE plan that can help you sustain your results for life.
